Dr. Heiberger is superb. I’m pushing menopause, so naturally a new chapter as a female. I love that she doesn’t treat in the “cookie-cutter,” pre-menopausal doctor fashion. Rather, she truly included my lifestyle and concerns, to come up a plan of care.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked by physicians, “What do you do for you?”
I answered honestly, “Lots of late night TV. Nope, I don’t work out.” I expected the normal doctor response: exercise, make more time for you…etc. Assuming it woukd come with the subtle undertone of disapproval. I didn’t get any of that. She knows me, she listens. No judgement. She just popped up from her chair and told me to take a deep breath (here we go I thought, “ you should meditate” ugh!). Nope, no mention of meditation. She just showed me how to relax, and breathe. A 10-30 second way to just hit pause, relax my muscles and regroup.
By no means did she imply meditation wasn’t helpful, or I shouldn’t be exercising. I’m an adult, she understands I already know these things. Her approach to everything was just as individualized.
I’m impressed how their group has changed their focus to in-depth women’s health.
